Approach

People remember how a room made them feel. We design that.

01Everything communicates.

Nothing in a room is neutral. Silence communicates. Waiting communicates. Pricing, lighting, music, the temperature of a greeting — every detail teaches people how seriously you take them. So we design behavior before aesthetics: what people do and feel first, how it looks second.

02Memory is designed.

Great experiences don’t happen by accident — they emerge from hundreds of intentional decisions working together. Consistency builds trust; surprise builds delight; both are necessary. And the best systems are invisible: guests rarely notice good operations, but they always notice bad ones.

03Belonging is the point.

Don’t ask who your customer is — ask who feels comfortable becoming one. The strongest communities are participants, not audiences: people support what they help create. Every room we design starts with who should feel welcome inside it.

FounderRuby Johnston— from rhetoric to rooms

Ruby holds a Master’s in Rhetoric — the study of the art and science of communication — and taught it for years at the university level. Her approach applies that science to physical space: light, sound, temperature, taste, feel, and texture all communicate to consumers, and Jubyr designs what they say to maximize the experience.

As Director of Experience at Margolis Philadelphia, her approach has driven a 3.6× average increase in sales in just over a year. She founded Jubyr LLC in 2026 to bring that philosophy beyond a single venue — consulting, producing, and teaching from strategy through show night.

Services

Seven ways we work.

Open any service for the details.

01Experience design— behavior before aesthetics

We help organizations intentionally shape how people experience their business. Whether designing a neighborhood cocktail bar or a multi-room music venue, our work begins with human behavior rather than aesthetics.

Deliverables include guest journey mapping, environmental strategy, programming concepts, behavioral design, customer experience audits, and creative direction.

02Hospitality consulting— hospitality is a language

Hospitality is a language. It communicates generosity, competence, curiosity, and care long before anyone tastes a drink.

We work with hospitality businesses to improve service systems, operational efficiency, menu development, staff culture, programming, guest retention, and long-term positioning.

03Venue strategy— known for more than what you sell

A venue should become known for more than what it sells.

We help venues identify their cultural role within a city, develop recurring programming, strengthen community relationships, improve operations, and create experiences people actively seek out.

04Event production— connection over attendance

We produce events that prioritize connection over attendance. Rather than beginning with ticket sales, we begin with purpose.

Why should this event exist? Who should leave different than when they arrived? Every production is designed around that answer.

05Creative direction— one cohesive creative system

From brand partnerships to physical environments, we help organizations develop cohesive creative systems that extend across design, programming, communication, and guest experience.

06Speaking & education— workshops and talks

Ruby speaks on experience design, hospitality, rhetoric, behavioral psychology, community building, and the future of cultural spaces.

Workshops are designed for hospitality professionals, universities, creative organizations, and leadership teams.

07Design Studio— custom sites & tools

The same design philosophy, applied to software. The Design Studio builds professional interfaces that centralize your workflow, streamline productivity, and make daily operations feel as considered as a well-run room.

Every site is designed beginning to end — trademark HTML, product design, and a signature look carried across brands: workflow home pages, client books & rosters, event ops tools.
